INTRODUCING BIG BLUESTEM WIND
The Big Bluestem Wind project provides an opportunity to help address the growing electricity demand in Illinois with clean, homegrown energy, while diversifying Henry County's economy and supporting jobs in the local community.
Big Bluestem Wind will create jobs and generate an entirely new source of long-term revenue for local governments, businesses, and landowners. In the long term, the project promises to bring sustained tax revenue to the county, as well as more than 30 years of local purchasing, employment, and investment.

AN ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY FOR HENRY COUNTY
Big Bluestem Wind will create jobs and generate an entirely new source of long-term revenue for local schools, government services, and property owners. The total direct financial impact to the region will be in the millions of dollars over the life of the project, with additional indirect economic benefits to the local economy.
Landowners participating in the wind project will receive annual lease payments. These payments will continue over the projected 30-year lifespan of the wind farm, injecting millions of dollars into the local economy to support local merchants, contractors, equipment suppliers, auto dealers, and others. The power from Big Bluestem Wind will be delivered into the electrical grid of Illinois, reducing the need to import electricity from outside markets.
